Bio
Daniel Valdez is a proud native Houstonian and the first in his family to graduate from college. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with a Minor in Spanish from Sam Houston State University. His interest in law was sparked early on while working as a legal assistant, where he played a key role in supporting victims of the 2005 BP plant explosion and helping homeowners fight wrongfully denied insurance claims following Hurricane Ike. These formative experiences inspired him to pursue a legal career and earn his Juris Doctor from Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
Today, Daniel is committed to providing accessible, compassionate, and results-driven legal representation. He is passionate about advocating for individuals and families, and guiding clients through complex legal challenges with clarity and care.
Outside the office, Daniel enjoys spending time with his wife, family, friends, and pets. A fan of Houston's vibrant culture, he regularly attends local sporting events and concerts. He also stays active by training at Third Ward Jiu-Jitsu and practicing yoga at Black Swan Yoga. Daniel is a devoted member of Power Church, where you’ll often find him on Sundays.
Experience
After becoming a licensed attorney, Daniel got his start representing people who had been harmed by dangerous pharmaceutical drugs and medical devices — including SSRIs, vaginal mesh implants, hip implants, and IVC filters. He also worked on cases involving agricultural pollution, personal injury claims, and insurance companies that wrongfully denied coverage. His work even caught the attention of journalist David Leffler from Public Health Watch, who interviewed Daniel about his advocacy in these areas.
Eventually, Daniel shifted his focus from mass torts and personal injury to a broader practice that includes civil, criminal, family, and immigration law. This change allowed him to gain hands-on courtroom experience and build strong relationships with clients from all kinds of backgrounds and life situations.
In 2017, Daniel launched Valdez Legal Advocacy, PLLC with one goal in mind: to offer clients legal guidance that’s honest, clear, and tailored to their unique needs.
Then in 2019, Daniel became a licensed real estate agent to better support people navigating real property issues — whether it’s buying, selling, or sorting out legal matters tied to real estate.
